Pastor Search Committee Final Update 11/15/2021
On Sunday, November 14, 2021, Emmanuel Enid was blessed to receive a message from Dr. Shonn Keels in all three services. The congregation was asked to vote on extending a call to Dr. Keels, and the result was an overwhelming 97% in favor of this action. During the month of December, Shonn and Bonnie Keels will be relocating to Enid. The first day of employment for Dr. Keels will be January 5th. We are excited to have his first sermon delivered to the congregation as Lead Pastor on January 9th, 2022. Wednesday evening activities will resume on January 12th, with Dr. Keels leading the adult Bible study. You will be seeing the topics and other information in the E-Vision and Mid-week updates very soon. We want to thank Wade Burleson for his outreach to Shonn to make this transition seamless. Wade will remain on staff until February 2, 2022, and continue in responsibilities of administration and transition. The Leadership Team is working to recognize Wade and Rachelle for their 30 years of ministry to Emmanuel and the Enid community. Look for information in the near future as to your opportunity to congratulate Wade and Rachelle on a job well done.
Finally, we would be remiss to not thank the staff of Emmanuel in their assistance through this transition. Cathy Epps was instrumental in her organizational skills not only for the weekend, but the voting process Sunday. Cathy’s staff of Becky Moss and Maera Barney have assisted in the on-boarding of Shonn as Lead Pastor and served during the voting process. It was a joy to have Sally Oringderff’s energetic spirit in serving as our outside independent vote counter. We appreciate the time she gave this past Sunday. Delane Osland and his technical crew not only made us sound and look good during the streaming of services, but he was responsible for the very touching video that played during the services which announced Dr. Keels to the pulpit. Taylor Blasier was a huge help over the last 10 months with developing our web page, designing slides for social media, and posting the many updates and minutes we had for you to read. And finally, to Jackson Anderson and Nicole Sallee, the praise time we had at all four services was spectacular. We noticed many joyous tears over the weekend. Thank you for touching our hearts!
Thank you for allowing us to serve,
